Announcement of two calls

Slovenian Book Agency announces that two public calls are planned to open on Friday 15 March 2024.

The calls will be opened until 24 April 2024.

1. The public call for the selection of cultural projects in the field of translation into foreign languages for 2024 (JR4–P–2024)

The subject of the public call JR4-P-2024 is selection of contractors and subsidizing their cultural projects in the field of translation into foreign languages in 2024.

The goal and purpose of the public call is support for the first translation of works, originally written in Slovene language into foreign languages. JAK will also co-finance translation of works, written in other languages, when author is a part of Slovenian cultural environment, into foreign languages.

Eligible texts include adult fiction, children’s and young adult fiction, essayistic and critical works from the field of culture and humanities that are to be published in a book form abroad or performed by a theatre company abroad. This call is going to subsidize translations, which are going to be published no later than 31 August 2026.…

Conference We Love Reading / Bologna 2024

International experts in the field of youth literature and the general public interested in youth literature and reading promotion are cordially invited to the Conference We Love Reading at the Salaborsa Library in Bologna on 10 April 2024.  

The conference is a part of Slovenia as the Guest of Honour at the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2024 and will focus on practices, experience and the knowledge of Slovenian experts in the field of youth literature and reading culture, applicable to other cultures and contexts. The programme consists of interesting talks, vibrant round tables and social networking.
